WELCOME TO POLI-BIO RESEARCH GROUP

The Polymeric Biomaterials Lab (Poli-Bio) emerged in 2013 at the Institute of Chemistry, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Our goal is to bring together researchers who use natural and synthetic biocompatible polymers for the construction of biomaterials.

Among the biomaterials, we work with nanofibers produced through the process of electrospinning, hydrogels, microstructured films and 3D printing.

Our group also performs the rheological investigation of natural and synthetic polymers, as well as structural modifications of polysaccharides and proteins for biological purposes.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

"We believe that scientific research is best performed by a diverse team that combines knowledge and multidisciplinarity. In this way, we can grow personally and collectively, bringing contributions to society and showing the role of science in maintaining the quality of life."
